Wales international Rees pledges his future to Scarlets

Wales hooker Matthew Rees has put an end to speculation over his Scarlets future next season by penning a new deal.

The 29-year-old was a star performer during the summer's Lions tour of South Africa and had been attracting interest from both France and the Guinness Premiership.

Rees, who joined the Scarlets in 2004 from the Celtic Warriors and Pontypridd and has gone on to make 121 appearances, has signed a new three-year deal, while fellow hooker Ken Owens has also agreed to stay at Parc Y Scarlets for another three years.

Promising full-back Dan Evans and 33-year-old loose-head prop Iestyn Thomas have also agreed new two-year contracts.
